Roof Replacement in Fargo, North Dakota
Fargo. Free estimates, hail claim experts, 10-year workmanship warranty.
Fargo is in the hail belt. The FM metro takes more hail damage in an average year than almost any other part of the upper Midwest. If your roof has been on your house for more than 10 years and you have not replaced it after a storm event, there is a very good chance you have hail damage you cannot see from the ground.
We are a locally operated roofing company with an office in the FM metro and a second office in the Treasure Valley. We replace hundreds of Fargo roofs every year. Most of them are insurance claims. Call (701) 831-0710 to schedule a free inspection.

Why Fargo roofs need replacing so often
Two things. Hail and wind. The FM metro sits in the corridor where warm Gulf air meets cold Canadian air, which produces the supercell storms that drop golf-ball sized hail every spring and summer. Combine that with winter winds that regularly hit 50 to 70 mph and you have a climate that beats up roofs faster than almost anywhere in the country.
The good news. Insurance covers most of it. If a hailstorm damaged your roof, your homeowners policy pays for the full replacement minus your deductible. You do not pay out of pocket for the difference.
Hail damage you cannot see from the ground
Hail damage on asphalt shingles shows up as small round bruises in the shingle surface. You usually cannot see them from the driveway. We climb the roof, mark every impact with chalk, photograph the damage, and pull the granules to check for matt exposure. If we find 8 or more impacts in a 10-foot test square, the roof qualifies for an insurance claim in most North Dakota policies.
We do this inspection for free. No commitment. If the roof does not qualify for a claim, we tell you that and you owe us nothing.
How we handle insurance claims for Fargo homeowners
We deal with every major carrier active in North Dakota. State Farm, Allstate, Farmers, American Family, USAA, Auto-Owners, Nodak, and the rest. The process:
1. We inspect the roof and document the damage with photos and a written inspection report.
2. You call your insurance company and report the storm event. We can walk you through what to say.
3. Your insurance adjuster comes out for their own inspection. We are present for that inspection so they see the damage we found.
4. The adjuster issues a claim approval and a scope of work.
5. We replace the roof and bill the carrier directly. You pay only your deductible.
Most Fargo claims close in 30 to 45 days from inspection to roof completion.
Materials we install most in Fargo
Class 4 impact-resistant shingles are the most common pick in the FM metro because of the hail. North Dakota insurance carriers offer 10 to 35 percent off your premium for installing them. The math usually works.
Standard architectural asphalt is our second most common install.
Standing seam metal is growing for higher-end Fargo homes. Hail can dent metal but it does not fail it the way it fails asphalt.
Winter and cold-weather installs
Asphalt shingles do not seal properly below about 40 degrees Fahrenheit. The adhesive strip on the back of each shingle needs warmth to bond. In the FM metro, that means we can install asphalt comfortably from April through October.
We do install in November and March on warmer days. Hand-sealing the tabs is required and we factor that into the bid. We do not install asphalt roofs in deep winter (December through February) because the bond will not form properly and the manufacturer warranty will not be valid. If your roof is leaking in January, we will tarp it for free and schedule the replacement for the first warm weather window.
